A Transformation Story

We love getting to know our clients, hearing about their life stories, their goals, their hopes and dreams. Real Estate is so much more than selling houses - it’s about helping people create homes for their families, close chapters in their lives and open new ones. It has a lot to do with solving problems - sometimes people need a little more help and we’re always up for a challenge!

One of our elderly clients was moving into care and after several great years in her condo, it was time to sell. Having restricted mobility and very limited assistance, we stepped in to help turn her place into a refreshed, clean and bright home, ready for new owners. Here are some of the things we did to take this condo to market:

Junk Removal & Donation: Several items needed to be sorted and either donated or trashed. After a few trips to goodwill, 505 Junk stepped in to assist with the removal of the remaining items. This amazing service takes the rubbish away, does all of the heavy lifting and charges by weight. We would highly recommend them for any kind of rubbish removal.

Fresh paint: We gave this home a fresh coat of neutral paint. Simply White by Behr is a great off-white paint that quickly refreshes a space, but still gives it warmth. Using a neutral colour, you can add pops of colour with accessories, artwork and plants.

New carpeting: The carpeting in the bedrooms was original, and badly needed to be replaced. A new, light grey plush carpet made all of the difference. Not only did it really clean it up, but it also gave it a more modern look.

New light fixture: Simply changing a light fixture can do a lot! It’s easy to do, and can change the whole look of a room. We took out the old 1980’s ceiling fan and replaced it with a great, modern dining room light.

A good scrub: Giving surfaces, walls, bathrooms, appliances, cabinets and windows a thorough cleaning can make all of the difference! The spaces feel fresh, clean and inviting.

The idea of dealing with years and years of things in her condo was overwhelming, but we wanted to assure her that we would be able to help with all of the details to make it a smooth and worry-free transition. We were able to coordinate all of the above and transform her place into a great listing that a new family is sure to enjoy! Here are some photos of the transformation:
