BURKE MOUNTAIN SCHOOLS
The Burke Mountain Community is part of Coquitlam's School District #43, serving the community of Coquitlam as well as the neighbouring communities of Anmore, Belcarra, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. Current schools for the Burke Mountain area are Leigh Elementary, Minnekhada Middle School, Kwayquitlam Middle School and Terry Fox Secondary School.
Also located nearby are Douglas College and Simon Fraser University, with many options available for adult education and recreational learning.
There are plans to build the first Burke Mountain elementary school on Queenston Avenue in the Smiling Creek neighbourhood. Already under construction, Smiling Creek Elementary School is scheduled to open September 2018.
When fully developed, Burke Mountain will feature five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
