City Cracking Down on Developers

A builder who was issued with a stop-work order by the city of Coquitlam last month while constructing a show home on Burke Mountain is expected to meet with city staff this week. 

Jim McIntyre, Coquitlam’s general manager of planning and development, said the show home was being built without a permit and, to compound matters, in an unserviced subdivision.

"The firefighters are here!" was definitely the quote of the night - overheard as the Coquitlam Fire and Rescue truck pulled up to the party.  It was an opportunity for the Coquitlam Fire Department to be part of this community event and the kids couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces.  The adults were plenty pleased as well....

New Green Can Program

Burke Mountain residents now have another way to help keep Coquitlam GREEN and save money on disposal costs.  The existing Yard Trimmings Program has been expanded and is now the Green Can Program!  This new program is available to all residents who receive curbside waste collection (except for businesses and multi-unit residences).
