Canada Day at Burke Mountain

Blog by Rebecca Permack | June 24th, 2013

Do you have any plans to celebrate Canada Day this coming weekend? Why not stay local and head down to LaFarge Lake and Evergreen Cultural Centre to enjoy the free festivities on offer.

This year, the City of Coquitlam has provided fun activities, food and cultural villages for the whole family to enjoy. Some of the activities include: drop in basketball, volleyball tournaments, Tumble Bus, mini golf and wall climbing. There will be local artisan tents where you can purchase some of their beautiful wares and also learn how they’re made.

When hunger strikes you can visit “Taste of Coquitlam” where you can enjoy a vast array of food from local restaurants including Chada Thai Fine Cuisine, Mr Mikes Steak House and Grill, Milestones and Caffe Divano.

There will be a wide-range of entertainment on the Coquitlam Stage throughout the day; including performances by Bobs and Lolo, 5 on a String and Greg Drummond, to name a few.

If you can, it is suggested that you walk or ride your bikes to Lafarge Lake. Parking will be provided on the grounds, but spaces are limited. Parking will be made available at Douglas College and Gleneagle Secondary School with shuttle transportation to and from Lafarge Lake.

The fun starts at 12pm and runs through to 10.30pm after the 10pm fireworks show.
