Coast Meridian Road construction is (almost) complete!
This summer has been an interesting one on Burke Mountain, to say the least. Everyone in the Lower Mainland has been affected in one way or another with the insane amount of road construction. It seems, though, that Coquitlam was hit the hardest, with every major route leading into or out of the city under construction. What would normally take a person five minutes was taking 20.
Residents of Burke Mountain were not spared this construction stress, as Coast Meridian Road was closed for widening and repaving from July right through to the middle of September. I think we all breathed a collective sigh of relief the day we could head straight down Coast Meridian Road, rather than detour through the (albeit lovely) Burke Mountain Heights development to get off the mountain and through Port Coquitlam.
Road construction south of David Avenue is essentially complete for the time being. Now the traffic backup will inevitably move north of David as we live through the construction of the newest development projects on Burke Mountain, including Cedar Creek Townhomes, Avondale, Meridian Heights and more
A little bit of patience and some extra time planned into your commute will make your life easier as we experience first-hand the growing pains of our new community!
