If you build it, they will come.
One of the questions I get asked most often by potential purchasers at Burke Mountain pertains to shops and services: where are they, what is already here, and what will be here? At present, all I can say is, “if you build it, they will come”. With the number of consumers planting roots on the mountain constantly growing, businesses will recognize and start to move into the community as well.
With the development on Burke Mountain still in its infancy, it’s only fitting that one of the first local businesses to pop up to service the area is the Burke Mountain Children’s Centre. Now accepting registration for September 2010, this licensed multi-aged care facility will service local families in Burke Mountain and provide daycare for children aged 12 months to 12 years. Located across from Leigh Elementary school, the Burke Mountain Children’s Centre will be open Monday-Friday from 7:30am-6pm, and will fill a much needed void for many of Burke Mountain’s commuting parents. Burke Mountain Retail Update
Wesbild has officially broken ground on the retail centre being constructed at the southeast corner of David Avenue and Coast Meridian Road. Scheduled for completion in 2011, this impressive glass and wood structure will be home to an A-list coffee shop, a restaurant, other ground floor retail and second floor professional services. It’s very exciting to see the ground being leveled; knowing our local ‘caffeine fix’ is mere months away!
If you know of any other local businesses trying to plant some roots in this establishing community, let us know and we will do our best to promote them on www.burkemountainhomes.com!
